Description
Uncoloured page preview from part one of my comic book series: Anepantla, taking place in precolumbian Mexico, roughly from the year 1473 to 1486. Hopefully soon to be published!
In this scene the people of Tenochtitlan celebrate the beginning of the ceremonial "month" of Atlcualo (also known as Atlcahualo or Quahuitlehua) Atlcualo presaged the coming of the dry period. Thus, during this time, gods and goddesses related to rain and sustenance were heavily celebrated in hopes of pleasing them and causing rain to fall.
